kisah ragut di The Curve...

This was how it began. It was around 11:15pm on Monday, 25th June and my girl friends and I just finished watching the animated film “Brave” at Cineleisure at The Curve. As we went down the escalator, one of them named Carol said “Jo, you should teman Dawn back to her car and she can drop you back.” I, being my usual stubborn self, waved them off, saying, “Aiyo no need lah, I’ll be fine, you guys carry on.” And when Carol insisted, it struck me that we were in The Curve (where many crimes have been happening lately), and I immediately agreed with her.

So Joanne and I walked through the sliding glass doors out of Cineleisure, down the steps and took a right where the fountain was. The aim was to cross the street and get back to Ikano Power Centre, where my car was parked. This alleyway that we had to walk past wasn’t dark and it hardly looked menacing. But it was deserted; there was not a soul in sight. Nevertheless, we thought nothing of it, as neither of us felt anything amiss. So we walked and I began checking my phone messages and replying to them one by one.

As we reached the grass area where the Volkswagen showroom was, a skinny guy that seemed to be in his early 20s, quietly sneaked up from behind us. He waited for the right moment to attack, the moment Joanne had her head turned away from me. He roughly grabbed the strap of my handbag that was on my right shoulder, almost snatching it away. I screamed on top of my lungs and yanked my handbag back in the nick of time.

The impact from his pull made me fall on my knees to the grass and my phone that I was fiddling with fell on the ground too, together with my handbag. I was still screaming and yelled “HOI!” to the guy, but he continued to run towards the edge of the little roundabout and joined his friend, who was waiting for him on a motorcycle. They quickly sped off towards the Kota Damansara area. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see their faces, nor the registration number on their motorcycle.

I got up and checked my belongings to see if all was in order. Joanne pulled me to the side, so that we can get away from that place, just in case those snatch thieves came back. None of the security guards at The Curve came to us, despite my screams. They were obviously nowhere near where the incident took place.

Even a middle-aged man who drove past the moment I fell, stopped at the side of the road to see if everything was okay, which was very nice of him. He looked at us curiously and I explained what happened. He said “Tu la, tadi saya nampak ada orang cuba ragut.” (Yes, earlier I saw someone trying to snatch something away”) And we told him to just be wary and mindful.

We walked next door to Royale Bintang Damansara Hotel and asked the security guard on duty, if there was a safe, indoor passageway that we could use to access the carpark at Ikano. He seemed to be a foreigner and had trouble speaking and understanding both English and Malay, pointing to the direction of Ikano. After three attempts of asking, we gave up and proceeded to cross the street.

As we crossed and headed towards the ramp down to the basement parking area, we saw three men suspiciously walking towards our direction and proceeded to also walk down the ramp, just in front of us. Joanne and I seemed to read each other’s minds when we said, “Yeah let’s forget this and go through the main entrance” and turned back, walking up to where the drop off area was, by the sliding glass doors.

At last, we saw a security guard who was sitting at the entrance of Ikano Power Centre, doing nothing. I proceeded to politely ask him if he would open a small door for us to enter to access the P2 carpark. He refused, stating gruffly that the mall is already closed, “Tak boleh buka pintu, semua sudah tutup. Kalau you mahu masuk parking, you kena turun ikut jalan kereta” (“We cannot open any of the doors, all are closed already. If you want to enter the parking area, you need to go down the ramp like how all the cars enter”), pointing directly to the ramps which we just walked away from.

Joanne and I made several more attempts before Joanne added, “Kalau encik tak nak buka pintu, tak apa. Boleh tak encik teman kita sampai ke kereta?” (“Sir, if you don’t want to open the doors, it’s okay. But can you at least walk us to our car?”) The security guard gave me a bored and disgruntled look, and it became clear to us that we were a nuisance to his otherwise very peaceful and serene night.

Then I finally said “Encik, mintak tolong, saya baru hampir kena ragut kat depan sana tadi. Please please please tolong kami.”  (“Sir, please help us. I almost got robbed by a snatch thief and it happened right where you’re asking us to walk to. Please please please help us.”)

More disgruntled looks from the guard. He then slowly took out his walkie-talkie and started speaking in a foreign language to another guard, and then agreed to walk us to the carpark. As we walked down the ramp, he was trailing far behind us and we had to slow down several times so that he could keep up. We were walking at a normal pace.

After about 200 metres, he stopped and said, "Okay, you go now."

We stopped on our tracks and were like, "Huh?? Can you just follow us to my car??" and he said "You go", told us that there would be another security guard around the bend to walk us directly to my car. We thanked him and proceeded further down. When we reached the bend, to our disappointment, there was nobody there. Although the car park was brightly lit, there were no security guards in sight as what the guard promised and there were only 5 cars parked in the vast space, within our range of sight. I proceeded quickly into my car while Joanne paid the parking ticket a few yards away. We then sped off from there to make a police report.

I'm not hurt, nor was anything taken. And for that, I'm super blessed and I thank my lucky stars. My hands were very shaky, yet I willed myself to drive properly to the police station at Damansara Utama, where the officers were nice and helpful. Even when I was drawing the map to explain where I was, my hands kept shaking. But I’m glad that it only came to that.

Things could have been much worse. The snatch thief could have been armed. He could have covered my nose and mouth with chloroform, or used a tazer gun against me. There could have been two or three, or ten of them. They could have waited until we got to our cars and robbed us there. Or they could have easily brought more of their friends to come back for us, as we were still walking by the street, wasting our time talking to those so-called “security guards”. The possibilities are endless.

You would think that despite the recent series of unfortunate incidents in shopping malls throughout the Klang Valley that at least one mall would step up to launch a safety awareness campaign and to take steps to raise their security levels. Not one has been doing it.  

Thanks to my friends; Carol Leong for insisting that Joanne Ho-Lee walks me back to my car and thanks to Joanne for being there with me throughout the entire ordeal and at the police station. Now I’m wary of leaving the house and as I drove home and saw families crossing the streets, I felt the urge of winding down my car window to tell them to be careful while they walk. 

Thanks also to all my family members, close friends, acquaintances, colleagues, Twitter and Facebook friends and followers who have shown so much concern and care for my wellbeing. I will remember each and every one of the kind words on the phone, sms and sent online.

so, perhatian pada kaum wanita...sila berhati-hati bile berada kat kawasan golden triangle ni erk...Ikano, Ikea and The Curve...dah macam-macam kes dah dengar sejak dua menjak ni...sampaikan aku sendiri rasa cuak nak ke sana bersendirian...padahal, sebelum ni, aku rileks je gi sana sorang-sorang or dengan adik perempuan...

pihak sane perlu tingkatkan keselamatan...jangan di buat main-main dengan benda-benda camni...harap-harap, pasni dah takde dah kes-kes macam ni kat sane...

untuk peminat kasut Charles & Keith seperti aku...hehe...ade kedai Charles & Keith yg baru kat One Utama...dibuka bersebelahan dengan kedai asal...dinamakan sebagai Charles & Keith Reductions...bermaksud, semua barang-barangnye dijual dengan harga runtuh... :)

serendah rm19 untuk sepasang kasut...dan hampir semua barang dijual dengan diskaun 80%....wowwwww!!! 80% tuuuuuu...giler murah kannnn...

aku dah masuk dah kedai ni..name pun kat OU kan...dan name pun aku keje sebelah OU je kan...harus la terjah kedai ni...dan banyak la kasut-kasut menarik...cumanye, ade yg out of season...ade jugak yg limited size...almaklumla, tinggal kasut yg tak berapa nak ade buyer kan...tapi boleh kata banyak gak kasut yg cecantik...kalo korang jenis tak kisah, pakai je kasut out of season ke ape ke...boleh la terjah kedai ni erkkk...

yg aku tak nampak semalam, handbag...kalo ade handbag sekali, mesti lagi best...harap-harap la pasni, dia letak handbag sekali..boleh la gi beli...ehhhh....hehehe...

ade yang bertanye, camne nak buat style tudung camni...so since aku tak pandai sangat nak buat video tutorial...dan since ramai sangat dah buat video pasal ni...aku amik je la salah satu video yang aku suka...

aku belajar melalui video ni je...senang nak paham...sebab cara si elyzazaza ni ajar memang agak senang...tak merumitkan...ade 2 cara dia tunjuk dalam video ni...so boleh la korang tengok yang mane korang berkenan and cuba la buat tudung style camni...

sape-sape yg agak-agak stress...pastu terasa nak marah orang ke, nak pukul orang ke...baik korang ke sini...dari mencederakan orang, baik korang cederakan bola...hahaha...

Batting Cages kat One Utama...lokasi atas bumbung...dengan bayaran yg dikenakan tak la mahal sangat...1 token (15 biji bola) dalam RM5...kalo beli 5 token, bayar RM24...kalo beli 10 token, RM40...tapi kalo guna student card, akan dapat lagi murah...cam aritu, kitaorang ke sana, memula bayar ikut harga biase...bile tau boleh guna student card, kitaorang menggunakan student card si min...dapat la murah skit...hehehe....

pastu untuk sesiapa yg baru belajar nak main, dia akan kasi helmet untuk korang pakai...nak protect kepala dari terkena bola dan jugak dari korang sendiri yg ade possibility untuk mengetuk kepala sendiri tanpa disengajakan... :P

kelajuan bola, ketinggian bola semua boleh di'adjust' dekat mesin yg disediakan...sebelum nak meng'adjust', jangan lupa masukkan token dulu ye...dah masuk token, pilih kelajuan dan ketinggian...pastu tekan 'start', then terus la main sampai bola habis...tapi kalo tengah main rasa kelajuan dan ketinggian tu mencapai tahap yg korang nak, boleh adjust lagi...buat la sampai rasa selesa... :)

ohhh...jangan risau...kalo tak reti nak pukul, orang yg menjaga tempat ini, akan ajar korang camne nak pukul bola yeee...

nak tengok betapa bestnye main pukul-pukul ni, korang boleh la layan video yg si wahyde ni amik...

sape penah makan siput mentarang ni, sila komen....ehhhh....hehhehe...saje je... :D

aku ni, memula, tak tau pun kewujudan siput mentarang, sampai la abah aku mesej pastu duk perangat aku kata siput ni lagi sedap dari siput-siput lain...dia tambah lagi perangat, kata makan kat Kuala Perlis...mane la aku tak macam cacing kepanasan...pi makan sedap-sedap, aku plak duk kat KL, baca je la mesej abah aku yg duk bagitau sedapnye siput tu....abahku ni pun, kesian anak mu ni tau...

aritu, bile ade peluang balik kampung...mak mentua ajak gi Kuala Perlis, terus aku teruja....sebab nak makan siput mentarang...hehehe...

bile tengok ke siput nya...aku duk pikir, betoi ke sedap siput ni...awat nampak cam tak best je...

tapi kan orang dah pesan...dont judge a book by its cover kan...bile dah makan....tu diaaaaa....sedapnyaaaaaa....manisnyaaaaaaaa...

betoi la ape abah aku cakap...memang sangat sedap and manis...tambah plak buat masak manis kan...lagi lah bertambah manis....

kalo tak nak buat masak manis, buat masak pedas pun boleh...ikut selera tekak masing-masing la ye...

anyway, ni makanan yg patut korang cuba makan...kawan aku penah bagitau, kat Kuala Selangor pun boleh dapat siput ni...kalo jumpa, try beli and masak...pastu makan...konpem korang setuju ngan cakap aku....yg siput ni sangat sedap...

Fullhouse Lifestyle Store & Cafe adalah salah satu tempat makan western kegemaran aku....

price yg agak affordable...makanan yg sedap dan tak penah mengecewakan...suasana makan yg best...kalo nk feeling-feeling romantik boleh la ke sini...memang sangat cozy..

menu wajib aku kalo dah ke sini, tak lain tak bukan, Grilled Mix Seafood la...sedap sebab makan dengan orange sauce yg yummy...dan Peppermint + Chocolate Topped With Chocolate Syrup...tapi aritu aku gi makan, aku tak order air ni, aku tukar order air lain plak...konon-konon sesaje nak try air minum lain... :)

air minum yg aku order ni memang tak leh nak terima dek tekak sangat...mungkin tak kena ngan taste aku kot...hehehe...nyesal tak order air minum favorite aku...huhuhuhuh....

ni adalah restoran Fullhouse kat Sunway Pyramid...kalo nak ikutkan Fullhouse ni ade 5 tempat....aku penah pegi yg kat Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, Sunway Pyramid and Sunway Giza...lagi 2 tempat kat Nie Ze Xui @ Ara Damansara and SS2 Mall...

pas makan kenyang kat sini, korang boleh la shopping plak kat restoran ni...barang-barang yg dijual semuanye menarik...sape yg minat ala-ala english style, mesti suka...aku yg duduk makan dalam tu pun, mata melilau je tengok keliling restoran tu yg ade benda menarik...terasa nak membeli, tapi tak beli pun...hehehe...buat cuci mata jeeee...

yg pasti, aku nak ke sini lagi, sebab mase menaip ni pun, aku duk terbayang Grilled Mix Seafood yg sedap tu....nyum nyum...hehehe....

menghirup udara segar...cuci mata dengan pokok-pokok hijau...

tenang je rasanye...

lagi best bile ade taman berdekatan je dengan umah, atas shopping complex plak tu...pastu ade macam-macam jenis pokok...yg tak penah tengok, sampai la yg penah tengok sebelum ni...jangan terkejut, pokok padi pun ade tau....sesuai ditunjukkan untuk orang-orang yg tak penah tengok padi sebelum ni...hehe...

actually ni je gambar yg aku capture masa jenjalan kat sini...kalo nak capture semua, rasa banyak sangat pokok-pokok kat sini...korang patut datang ke sini tau...tengok sendiri...nikmati sendiri...best sangat2...

tapi kan Secret Garden ni buka time weekend je...hari biase dia tak buka langsung...so jalan-jalan time weekend ngan family tu, boleh la bawak ke sini....especially kids...boleh la diaorang kenal pokok-pokok kan...

mine? I had a great weekend...

*tetiba bercakap omputih plak, dah la grammar tunggang langgang.... :P ok ok back to cakap melayu

weekend aku lagi awesome bile dapat attend KRU 20th Anniversary Showcase...memang enjoy sesangat...entry pasal ni akan dibuat nanti-nanti...memandangkan gambar belum diambil dari kamera kengkawan... :D

sebelum ni, aku memang dah suka dengan lagu Mojo - Andai Ku Bercinta Lagi...pastu semalam bile dengar Live...lagi la aku suka plus terus jatuh cinta...haha...memang best performance Mojo semalam...cuma rugi aku tak rekod time Mojo nyanyi...dah suku lagu baru sedar yg aku dah terlepas untuk rekod performance Mojo...haissshhh...salahkan diri sendiri... :(

tak dapat tengok performance live semalam secara repeat, tengok MV pun jadi la....

suara aweera memang mantap & sedap!!nyanyi Live ngan recording same je bunyinya...tak lari langsung dari asal...memang terbaeeekkk la MOJO!!!

ok lah, tu je entry aku untuk arini...sekadar untuk menghilangkan Monday Blues aku... (^_^)v

call still dapat sampai sekarang...taktik baru yg sye guna adalah bertanye samada, ade tak tertulis dalam term & condition bank mengatakan yg sye wajib amik insurans ni...bile ditanye, samada mereka matikan call atau pun yg cuba melawan, tak leh nak buktikan yg ade tertulis dalam T & C bank, malah cuba mengelak dengan bagi alasan yg macam-macam dan still paksa suh amik jugak-jugak...so, terbukti lagi yg mereka ni nak menipu kita...nak amik duit kita...


pada sesiapa yg dapat call, jangan sesekali bagi detail CC pada mereka...kalo boleh, simpan no mereka dan report pada pihak bank ke polis ke ye...


jangan mudah percaya dengan kata-kata mereka...semua itu tipu belaka!!!!


protect la CC korang sebaik mungkin ye...

akhirnya...dapat jugak update entry ni...walaupun agak lambat, tapi aku nak update jugak...hehee...

sape-sape yg baca blog aku minggu lepas, mesti perasan entry aku yg aku wish Happy Birthday to TV3...cam aku tulis dalam tu, petang tu kitaorang ade makan-makan kan...so entry ni aku cite skit la celebration kat opis... :)

tepat kul 4.50ptg...kitaorang semua turun untuk sambut birthday TV3...makan yg ade petang tu hanyalah sate yg sedap ngan air teh tarik n air mata kucing...memang petang tu perut kitaorg kenyang ngan sate je...boleh makan sebanyak mana yg nak sebab memang banyak giler sate di hidangkan petang tu...siap timun, nasi impit, semua ade la...complete...

actually aku nak cite panjang2 pun...takde la cite sangat pun...hehee...sebab petang tu memang pulun makan je...tak pikir benda lain dah...sanggup simpan perut tu semata-mata nak makan banyak-banyak petang tu...hahaha... :P

so korang layan gambar je la ye...

oppssss...sori, i pakai kamera phone je...so gambar tak la cantik sangat...sorry yeeee... :)

untuk event petang tu, siap ade pentas lagi...khas untuk sambutan TV3...

watak-watak kartun pun ade...boboiboy, yaya and lain-lain...tapi tak sempat plak nak amik gambar ngan mereka-meraka ni...sebab sate lagi mengujakan...hehe...

makan time la!!!!

tak sabarnye nak pegi KRU 20th Anniversary Showcase ari ahad ni kat Neverland @ Orange...yeay!!!

eh eh, Neverland ni, tempat aritu yg pergi Nuffnang Birthday Party tu kan... :)

semalam, setelah menunggu berhari-hari, akhirnya dapat jugak pass masuk untuk ke situ...kawan-kawan ku semua duk perangat aku dari minggu lepas lagi, sebab diaorang punya dah sampai awal dari aku...tak baik tau korang...so, bila dah sampai semalam, aku rasa syok...sebab aku tak payah nak jeles ngan kawan-kawan aku tu...eleh, korang...aku pun ade laaa... :P

taraaa...ni dia aku punya...

sape lagi yg pegi erk???bleh la jumpa korang kat sane nanti... :D
